SCHOOLIES have been dicing with death, leaping between balconies high above the ground.
Two schoolies have so far been evicted from their hotel and others will be booted out if caught balcony hopping, the festival's senior cop has warned.
Acting Chief Superintendent Des Lacy says balcony-hopping "will end your schoolies adventure''.
Supt Lacy says accommodation managers are taking a hard line on balcony hopping, and police have welcomed their support.
``We can't be everywhere,'' he said.
But repeated warnings have been ignored just two days into the week that has drawn tens of thousands of school leavers to the Gold Coast.
Late yesterday, a young girl was seen climbing over the railing of her ninth-storey hotel balcony at The Islander.

After sharing a beer with schoolies in a next door apartment, she climbed over the railing and jumped the metre-wide gap to the apartment next door. She was later followed by other schoolies.
The security manager tried to stop the balcony hopping but the teens ignored repeated warnings.
Police Superintendent Des Lacey said balcony hoppers would face immediate eviction if caught in the act.
"It is not on," he said.
The warning comes as thousands of school leavers descended on the Gold Coast for that annual party.
The first week of Schoolies - enjoyed by Queensland graduates - is one characterised by alcohol-free beach parties organised by the state government.
About 20 young partygoers have been treated in a triage tent set up near the shore.
Along Cavill Ave, the main strip, pop-up stores are selling personalised T-shirts, with ones featuring phone numbers the most popular designs.
They are being sold to teenagers with clear intentions: to drink, party and meet as many people of the opposite sex as possible.

"Boys, booze, sex and bitches," said Georgia Silversmith, 17.
"There are actually 500 unplanned pregnancies each year (at schoolies) - and I didn't come to schoolies to plan one."
Close to the centre of the action, the nights are synonymous with shirtless mobs repeating crude chants at the top of their lungs.
"Let's get f ... ing mental," is among the most politically correct of their repertoire.
The Islander, Surfers Paradise's most notorious hotel, has once again become a 13-storey chamber of sex, drugs and shenanigans.
