DERWENT goalkeeper Magnus McCausland stole the show in his secondary position as centre forward, rifling a venomous tomahawk goal to seal an extra-time 2-1 win for Derwent in the U18 boys grand final.

Opponents DiamondBacks led for the first half with Jack Sheehan scoring a penalty corner goal, before Derwent skipper Harry Winch levelled the scores up with a penalty corner flick goal after halftime.

Derwent centre forward Magnus McCausland struck the winning goal in the under-18 grand final verses the DiamondBacks.

McCausland, Player of the Final in the 2019 Premier League grand final, reaffirmed his reputation as a big game specialist with the match winning goal in spectacular fashion.

DiamondBacks will have learned plenty from the experience, with all sixteen players from their squad able to return in this age group in 2021.

OHA claimed the under fifteen boy’s title on shootouts and the under eighteen girls’ final 5-0.

The Mercury will continue its live streaming with coverage of both under thirteen boys (Division One) and girls on Friday night.
