The Prime Minister has held talks with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs at the ASEAN-Australia Summit in Cambodia.
Anthony Albanese labelled Russia’s invasion of the country “reprehensible” when he met with Dmytro Kuleba in Phnom Penh on Saturday.
Mr Kuleba acknowledged his country’s deep woes since the war began but said Ukrainians were grateful for the support of Australians.

“Ukraine, Ukrainian will always remember this support the people of Australia extended to us,” he said. “We will definitely prevail and when victory comes it will be a joint success.”
Australia has provided Ukraine with approximately $655 million in support since the war broke out, including $475 million in military support.
Last month, it was announced Australia would provide an additional 30 Bushmasters and a contingent of ADF personnel to provide training to Ukrainian troops in the United Kingdom.
Mr Albanese later delivered a speech where he acknowledged Australia’s relation to ASEAN countries.
“For close to five decades, our partnership has stood for mutual respect and co-operation among sovereign nations and has promoted, in the words of the ASEAN Declaration, ‘the cherished ideals of peace, freedom, social justice and economic wellbeing’.” he said.
“The urgent task we face today is to uphold these cherished ideals as we confront a complex and changing world.
“I come here to reaffirm Australia’s commitment to this effort and bring a renewed vision for what we can achieve together for our shared region.”
Mr Albanese will attend the East Asia Summit on Sunday before heading for the G20 in Bali, and the Apec summit in Bangkok.
US President Joe Biden also arrived in Cambodia on Saturday, after a brief stopover at the COP27 climate talks in Egypt.
