Pregnant Brisbane mum keeps auction stress under control
A COUPLE expecting their second child on Monday have sold their home in Brisbane’s inner southwest with two days to spare.

Heavily pregnant Heidi Trevaskis and her husband Carl joked all week about the possibility of going into early labour on the day their Graceville home went to auction.
But luckily it didn’t happen.
Yesterday the couple, who are expecting their second child on Monday, sold their three-bedroom, one-bathroom family home of almost two years at 240 Long St East.
With eight registered bidders, the home on a 432sq m block, sold under the hammer for $759,000 in front of a crowd of almost 50 people.
“We were hiding out in the nursery while the auction was going on,” Mrs Trevaskis laughed.
Mr Trevaskis said his family were relocating to NSW and was sad to leave the first home the couple had bought together.
New owner Kate Hill, 32, came in at the last minute to bid for the property and said she was excited about her Graceville purchase.
“We’ve got two boys and love this family-friendly area,” she said.
Place Graceville director Peter May said the property was popular with buyers looking for Queenslander-style homes.
“We had about 60 groups come through here,” he said.
Mr May pointed out the couple who owned the property prior to the Trevaskis’ also attended the auction.
Meanwhile it was a beautiful moment yesterday when Sam Guyer watched his daughter Leanne purchase her new home at Fairfield.
Standing by his daughter’s side, Mr Guyer gave his daughter a kiss after the auction, which he described as “fantastic”.
In front of a crowd of about 40 people, eight registered bidders, including Ms Guyer, the three-bedroom, one-bathroom deceased estate was sold under the hammer for $651,000.
Ray White auctioneer Haesley Cush said the opening bid started at $500,000 and toggled between two bidders, including Ms Guyer.
The crowd watched on patiently with 49 bids made, several between $500 to $1000 increments.
Ray White Sherwood agent Michael Nolan said the instructions were clear.
He said after living there for 35 years, the owners had moved out and started their next chapter.
