Police and emergency services have rescued a man who slipped and fell while walking on a Hobart mountain.

UPDATE, 2.30pm: Emergency services have successfully retrieved an injured hiker from the Truganini Track in Mt Nelson.
A statement from Tasmania Police confirmed a man in his 60swas carried a short distance by stretcher before being flown in the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
His injuries were not life threatening
INITIAL: EMERGENCY services are assisting an injured man on the Truganini Track at Mount Nelson.
The man reportedly slipped and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police search and rescue members are attending to stretcher the man from the scene.
