Overland train to run between Adelaide, Geelong and Melbourne again from January

The Overland train will again begin running between Adelaide, Geelong and Melbourne from January.

From January 3 the train service will resume from Adelaide to Melbourne, and a day later the Melbourne to Adelaide service will kick off.

The service that stops at Murray Bridge, Bordertown, Nhill, Dimboola, Horsham, Stawell, Ararat and North Shore station in Geelong is used by about 20,000 people per year.

The service that operates on a 828-kilometre route has been funded until December 2023.

Public Transport Ben Carroll Minister said: “After South Australia walked away from this iconic service – we’ve continued our support to back jobs, tourism and travel across the state.”
