Senior forecaster Sally Cutter Alice Springs typically sees around 13 nights a year dip into the negatives.

“It’s going to hang around 1C there on (Wednesday night) and eventually warm up on Friday as the wind turns northerly,” she said.

“Things will cool down again on Sunday morning and should record a minimum of 7C and 3C on Monday as the cold air returns.”

She said Darwin could also expect overnight temperatures to drop next week.

“We forecast minimums to drop below 20 early next week, depending on when the winds start to move east.”
