The 33-year-old was seriously assaulted just before 6.30pm when a 26-year-old allegedly produced a weapon outside a takeaway liquor store on Woolnough Pl, in Palmerston, before the 33-year-old was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition.

Investigating police cordoned off the BWS drive through, which is attached to the Palmerston Tavern where the incident took place.
