Award-winning musicians are headed to the Surf Coast this weekend as part of a show-stopping concert series.

Tones and I, Missy Higgins, Gordi and Didirri will showcase their musical talents at Mount Duneed Estate on Saturday, January 23 as part of the 2021 Sounds Better Together concert tour.

Tones and I is set to play at Mt Duneed Estate.

The series will be held across four dates from Saturday, with other venues featuring artists like Jimmy Barnes, Daryl Braithwaite, The Teskey Brothers, James Reyne, Didirri, Mia Wray and much more.

Five-time chart topper Missy Higgins said the state’s live music scene had always been intertwined with everyday life and culture.

“Live music has always been an essential part of life in Victoria so it’s exciting to finally be getting back to playing gigs here again,” she said.

“Hopefully these special shows can be a bit of a thank you to everyone for all the sacrifices they made last year.”

State Tourism Minister Martin Pakula said concerts would help bring artists and music lovers together after a difficult year.

“The 2021 Sounds Better Together series will get musicians back on stage and help people enjoy a great night out, supporting communities across the state,” he said.

“Our music industry supports thousands of jobs and injects millions into our economy, and we’re helping the sector get back on track.

To ensure safety venues will work at a reduced capacity, implement digital tickets and additionally staffing, security and sanitary measures.

Shows will also be reserved allocated seating only with increased row width to ensure social distancing.
