COURTNEY Thorpe is in beauty queen boot camp.
The Miss World Australia winner is undergoing a strict training regime in preparation for this year’s international Miss World final, living in a secret location with a team primping and priming her to give her the best chance of taking the crown.
Like Sandra Bullock’s character in Hollywood comedy Miss Congeniality, Thorpe is surrounded 24 hours a day by beauty experts.
“I can’t tell anyone where the secret location is,” she said. “My mum and dad know where it is, but nobody else knows.
“It is to keep me focused and help me concentrate on the goal. It is a little bit hard keeping it from my best friends, but they understand.”
The Brisbane local has a personal trainer, chef, manager, hair and make-up team and vocal coach working with her around the clock.
“I have a strict schedule planned out by the minute from when I wake up at 5.15am to when I go to bed at 10.30pm,” she said.
Thorpe rises before the sun and kick starts her day with an intense work out, she eats her breakfast that is calculated down to the last gram, there are hours of competition research, hair and make-up training and singing practice with 2013 Miss World Australia and fellow Queenslander Erin Holland.
Thorpe admits the beauty queen boot camp took a bit of getting used to. “Now I am just enjoying things.”
Thorpe will compete in the Miss World final in London on December 14.
