A man was seriously injured after allegedly being assaulted at a Belmont hotel.
Paramedics were called to the High Street venue around 7.50pm on Saturday following reports the man, in his 20s, had sustained serious facial injuries.
The man was treated and taken to Geelong hospital.
Victoria Police spokesman Leading Senior Constable Rohan Imms said Waurn Ponds officers were investigating the incident.
“The exact circumstances of the assault are unknown and the investigation is ongoing,” Constable Imms said.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
