A man has been arrested after allegedly evading police across Geelong on Saturday night in a pursuit that saw the air wing called in.

A man has been arrested after allegedly evading police across Geelong on Saturday night in a pursuit that saw the air wing called in.

Police saw an allegedly stolen 2018 white Mercedes Benz 350 leaving a Norlane address about 8.30pm.

Officers attempted to intercept the car but the driver allegedly sped off.

The Victoria Police Air Wing responded and followed the car allegedly drive erratically throughout various suburbs.

The driver of the car exited the vehicle on Frank Street in Newtown and attempted to flee but was arrested on a shed roof shortly after.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with conduct endangering life, theft of motor vehicle, intent exposure of police officer to risk by driving, fail to stop, possess controlled weapon and unlicensed driving.

The Norlane man was remanded to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
