The Married At First Sight bride was driven to Cleveland Magistrates Court today in a Mercedes limo flanked by security after she was charged with drink-driving on Christmas Day last year.

Basic’s burly bodyguard got in a tussle with media outside court as he tried to shield her from cameras.

In court, it was revealed that the 29-year-old legal secretary had been drinking vodka and champagne at her sister’s house in Redland Bay from 10am on December 25.

After a heated argument with her sister about her decision to go on Married At First Sight, Basic left the house about 7pm and got into her car, then “tapped” her sister’s car that was parked in the driveway.

Police prosecutor Angela Tetley detailed how Basic was heard screaming “I’m going to f**king burn your f**king house down”.

When police arrived, Basic said to police “f**k those c**ts” and when a female police officer asked her to calm down she yelled “f**king arrest me then b*tch”.

Sgt Tetley said Basic gave the fake name “Vanessa Ines” to police.

She then allegedly told officers “I would never drink drive but the b*tch pissed me off”, referring to her sister.

Basic allegedly recorded a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.146 per cent, nearly three times the legal limit.

Basic’s lawyer, Ivan Sayad, argued that the TV star had issues with her childhood, coming to Australia as a Bosnian refugee when she was four.

Mr Sayad said apart from public nuisance charges from 2009 and 2014, Basic had a good history with the law.

He asked Magistrate Deborah Vasta that she receive only a fine and have no conviction recorded as Basic hoped to pursue “media opportunities” in the US.

Magistrate Deborah Vasta said Basic had behaved like an “absolute brat” who was living in a “bubble of artificiality”.

“I get you might have been drunk but it’s still no excuse,” she said.

Basic pleaded guilty to driving over the mid-range alcohol limit, contravening a police direction, commit public nuisance and driving without due care.

Basic was sentenced to complete 70 hours of community service and disqualified for driving for a further three months.

No conviction was recorded.

Magistrate Vasta blasted Basic in court, telling her to get some perspective on life.

“I think the best way for you to repay your debt to society is rolling up your sleeves, and getting out into the community and amongst reality and the real fabric of society,” magistrate Vasta said.

“Because whatever reality TV show you’ve been on, it’s not reality.

Magistrate Vasta said she hoped the community services order would “put some context” on Basic’s life.

“It sounds like you’ve been living in a bubble of artificiality. And I just want you to get back to that basics,” she said.

“I hope you wake up tomorrow, watch the sunrise and consider that you’re just another human being on this massive planet just spinning in space.

“Get some perspective on life.”

Outside court, Basic was heckled by the show’s fans who said she should take the magistrate’s advice and step back to reality.

When leaving the area, police approached Ines’ team to discuss the parking of the limo, advising them it wasn’t parked correctly.
