A Geelong couple finally got the chance to say ‘I do’ at the weekend after COVID-19 disrupted their wedding plans five times.
Laura Tasker and Corey Rufus wed on Sunday in a small outdoor ceremony in front of family and friends.
The pair, who got engaged in June last year, were thrilled to finally celebrate their special day.
The couple had initially planned to marry in Bali in August 2020 but was cancelled due to COVID-19, before attempting to plan their wedding another four times – including at a winery, a local Airbnb and the Barwon River.
More recently, they were preparing for a Valentine’s Day wedding at Laura’s mums house before premier Daniel Andrews called a five-day snap lockdown.
Laura described her journey to walking down the aisle as “crazy”.

“My philosophy is to laugh as much as I can – I spent a lot of time crying and all that over everything,” Laura said.
“(But) this something we both really wanted, getting married was a really special and important thing for us.”
