A Lara man sustained serious injuries when his car smashed into a pole at North Shore overnight.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the Abery Road crash to come forward.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Liz Mellino said officer were called to the crash around 11.55pm on Wednesday.
She said its believed the white Commodore sedan came off the road and crashed into a light pole.
“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Lara man, was transported to hospital with serious injuries,” she said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed the man sustained lower body injuries and was taken to Geelong hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause.
