Kylie Moore-Gilbert’s love rat ex-husband has been spotted with the woman he cheated with, while she was in an Iranian jail. SEE THE PHOTOS

Exclusive: Just a week after freed academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert marked her divorce with a cheeky social media post, her love-rat ex-husband was seen out and about holding hands with the woman he was cheating with, while his wife was held in an Iranian jail.

Ruslan Hodorov and his lover Kylie Baxter were seen publicly for the first time last week, enjoying a long walk along the Yarra River near the Toorak home they now share.

While Mr Hodorov said he “appreciated the interest” in his wife’s case and the breakdown of their marriage, he refused to comment further – adding only that he was relieved and pleased she was home.

Earlier this month, Dr Moore-Gilbert – a lecturer in Islamic studies at the University of Melbourne – announced she’d officially divorced her husband, after discovering he’d been involved in a year-long affair with her university colleague, 43-year-old Dr Baxter.

Dr Moore-Gilbert had been jailed on spurious charges of spying after attending a Tehran conference in September 2018 and spent 804 days in an Iranian prison.

Dr Moore-Gilbert, who suffered through solitary confinement, psychological torture and brutal physical conditions, previously revealed she realised something was wrong with her marriage about halfway through her imprisonment.

“He stopped telling me he loved me over the phone,” Dr Moore-Gilbert in an exclusive Sky News Interview last month.

The identity of Dr Moore-Gilbert’s husband remained tightly guarded during her imprisonment given the sensitivities of her being married to a Russian-Israeli while being accused of being an Israeli spy by Iranian authorities.

Dr Moore-Gilbert announced her divorce on social media with a tweet containing some champagne bottle emoji’s and a Kath and Kim video about “wine time”.

She replied to a number of people praising her for the divorce.

“It’s only up from here,” she wrote to one.

Dr Moore-Gilbert also elaborated this week on her divorce announcement, saying she no longer cared for her ex-husband but added it was a private matter she did not want to discuss any further.

“I don’t care what he is doing. He is none of my business … that is my ex and I don’t care about him,” she said.

Dr Moore-Gilbert was released in November last year and finally returned to Australia.

But it was left to Dr Moore-Gilbert’s mother to break the news about the affair between her then husband and her colleague, when she arrived back in Australia.

“He never told my family, or told me, that he wanted to leave me. He maintained the deception right up until the end,” Dr Moore-Gilbert told Sky News.
