A THOUSAND people have passed through Northern Territory borders so far this month either by road, air or sea.

A THOUSAND people have passed through Northern Territory borders so far this month either by road, air or sea.
Data collected by the Territory Government shows 1001 people arrived in the NT between April 1-27, including 563 who arrived by air and 429 who arrived by road.
During this period, only nine people arrived in the NT by boat and there were no arrivals by rail.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the NT’s borders would be the last thing to open as coronavirus restrictions start to relax across the Territory over the next few months.
“We are the safest place in the country right now and I will do whatever it takes to keep it that way,” he said.

Non-essential travellers arriving at a Northern Territory border must complete 14 days of forced quarantine.
