‘Just insane’: Man slammed for ‘scummy’ groceries act

An Aussie mum was left in shock after her Woolies groceries were seemingly pinched shortly after being delivered to her door.

Footage of a man seemingly stealing $170 worth of groceries from a woman’s front door has left a community fuming, with police launching an investigation into the alleged theft.

Adelaide mum Eliza Bolton shared the video on Facebook, which showed a man, wearing a bucket hat and a white shirt, sneaking up to the home and taking multiple Woolworths bags full of groceries.

“This person stole $170 worth of Woolies order from our doorstep,” she wrote on the

Hallett Cove and Surrounds Community Watch page.

“I was inside the house with my baby and opened the door 2 minutes after he left! If you recognise this guy and have ANY information, please let me know. It’s been reported to the police.”

In a statement to news.com.au, Adelaide Police said they are “aware of the incident and are investigating”.

In the video, the man pulls up in front of the house in a white ute.

He casually walks towards the bags of shopping at the front door and picks them up without looking inside.

He walks back to the car and drives away.

“I was nursing my baby at the time and it happened so quickly. Just insane,” Ms Bolton wrote.

“Hopefully he will get caught.”

Members of the community Facebook group were quick to slam the man.

Some viewers pointed out that he got in and out of the passenger side of the car – meaning someone else was with him.

“What’s this world coming too it’s crazy what people are doing,” one person wrote.

Another wrote: “Lowlife scum. Distinctive clothing, someone may know him.”
