A HOME has been significantly damaged in a suspicious house fire in Sadadeen overnight.
Southern Watch Commander Shaun Furniss said police responded to reports of a fire on Wednesday afternoon.

“We had a house fire in Spearwood Rd, just after 4pm (Thursday),” he said.
“Smoke was billowing out of the roof and flames could be seen. The fire was extinguished but not before considerable damage was done.
“It appears it started in the kitchen cupboard, that’s where the ignition point was before spreading through the roof to adjoining rooms.”
Commander Furniss said there were circumstances which made the fire suspicious.
“The property had been vacant for some time … there’s indications there may have been someone involved,” he said.
“The fire is being treated as suspicious.”
