CHIEF Minister Michael Gunner and Treasurer Nicole Manison, who made her first public appearance in more than two weeks at Sunday’s Labor launch, have used coronavirus, the Home Improvement Scheme and conservative spending to appeal to voters just four days out from the Territory Election.
Mr Gunner said Labor had thrown the “kitchen sink” at coronavirus and would keep that approach if they were re-elected on Saturday.
“Whatever it takes to save your life to save your job,” he said.
Mr Gunner also said the Home Improvement Scheme had created “$90 million worth of work, $90 million worth of jobs”.
Ms Manison said Labor hadn’t made big spending commitments in the lead up to the election “because we know we have to live within our budget”.
“What we’ve got here, particularly with the challenges that we’ve got with coronavirus, I said to you months ago that don’t expect to see any flashy promises from us because our focus is investing in jobs and investing in making sure that we keep people safe and that is very much so what we’ve done,” she said.
