FRESH APPEAL TO FIND ‘VULNERABLE’ MISSING COAST GIRL

The girl was last seen at a service station on Peachey Road at Ormeau about 8.30pm on Saturday night after spending the day at Cedar Creek Falls with a 11-year-old boy.

Queensland Police believe the girl and boy ran away from home together.

Child Protection Investigation Unit Detective Inspector Mark White urged the public to come forward with any information.

“Last Saturday, two 11-year-olds were reported missing after a day visit to Cedar Creek Falls,” he said.

“They were seen at a Caltex service station later that night.

“One of the 11-year-olds, the male, was located on Wednesday evening and we also had confirmation the missing female was also seen at that same time.

“The two young people did run away.

“They were out on a day visit and it was reported to the Logan police and we commenced the investigation from there.

“Unfortunately we haven’t been able to find the young female. We are seeking any information the public may have.

“It’s really imperative we take every step we can to locate this young person.

“A person of that age out in the public without appropriate supervision, I would consider to be very vulnerable.”

This is the third appeal for information by police in the six days the girl has been missing.

She is described of having a slim build, long dark brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing a light coloured singlet, floral shorts and joggers.

The girl is believed to frequent Main Beach, Southport and Surfers Paradise.

“We haven’t had any success trying to locate the young female,” Det Insp White said.

“We believe people in the community would have some information and we would like them to come forward.”

Asked if police believed the girl could be in trouble, Det Insp White said: “We just want to make sure she’s OK.”

The girl went missing in early September for 10 days, with police sending out an amber alert.
