A LOCAL tradie turned full-time fitness trainer is looking to help construction workers instil healthy habits.
Armstrong Creek’s Rick Westman, 30, worked as an apprentice carpenter locally and spent more than 13 years in the construction industry.
While keeping up his training and meal prep during the gruelling work schedule and commuting to Melbourne, Mr Westman gained an understanding of the issues tradies could face when it comes to fitness.
“I got to a position in my life where I decided to chase my passion for fitness,” Mr Westman said.
Earlier this year, he made the switch to full-time training, and has a focus on helping tradies find the willpower to exercise and stay healthy, despite their long hours. Mr Westman, who has more than 24,000 followers on Instagram, offers online services including free exercise videos, recipes and blogs.
