Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he's making no assumptions about the outcome of tonight's vote as Bill Shorten continues campaigning in his home state of Victoria.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he's making no assumptions about the outcome of tonight's vote.
The PM flew back to Sydney from Tasmania to cast his vote at the Lilli Pilli Public School in the seat of Cook with wife Jenny at his side.
The final Newspoll of the campaign shows Labor edging ahead of the Coalition by 51.5 to 48.5 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.
Earlier, Labor lodged a formal complaint with the electoral commission over Liberal signs targeting Chinese voters in the Melbourne seat of Chisholm.
The signs use the commission’s purple and white colour scheme and instruct voters to put a number one next to the Liberal Party.
“This is a new low - a pathetic and dirty attempt to deceive voters because the Liberals have no policy to talk about,” a Labor spokeswoman said.
In a statement, the Australian Electoral Commission said: "The AEC is aware of the electoral material and has reviewed images referred to us. The electoral material in question appears appropriately authorised in accordance with electoral laws."
Labor leader Bill Shorten headed to the marginal seat of Higgins after casting his vote at the Moonee Ponds West Primary School in his seat of Maribyrnong.
