TONY Abbott has thrown his support behind Scott Morrison’s Budget, applauding the Turnbull Government’s moves on spending, welfare and infrastructure.
“Given the circumstances that we find ourselves in, this is the best way forward, the best way to fund important programs and the best way to get back to surplus as quickly as we reasonably can,” Abbott told Ben Fordham on 2GB.
“Given this is the Senate we have and the system we have now the Government says this is the best way forward for now.
Abbott’s comments came after Morrison defended the Government’s new housing plan as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull slammed Labor Party “hypocrisy”.
During a fiery Question Time, Mr Turnbull used fresh material from Mr Morrison’s “reset” budget to systematically target the Labor Party’s main attacks on schools and health in a fiery Question Time today.
Riding high off the back of yesterday’s big budget reveal, the Prime Minister slammed Labor MPs for being “hypocrites” on Gonski school funding, Medicare and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
