Albanese accused of lying over Labor’s plans for negative gearing

The Coalition is demanding Labor provide the opposition a briefing into reports of Russia placing a request with Indonesia to base aircraft in Papua. 

Meanwhile. Anthony Albanese says he was “stunned” by Peter Dutton’s answer to a question on climate change in last night’s debate, mockingly questioning whether his opponent believes in gravity.

However, the PM is being forced to fend off accusations he had lied in one of his own answers on negative gearing, as his opponent claims Labor has a secret plan to abolish the tax offset for investment property owners.

And Mr Dutton – who is today spruiking his proposal to build new technical colleges around the nation – has told The Australian he wants to index personal income tax to stop the erosion of personal wealth through bracket creep, but won’t take the policy to the election.
