Which is odd because many of us, even in our callow youth and under the influence of strong drink, understood that posters of naked ladies outside a venue belching loud, thumping music indicated this was not the Presbyterian Crafts Club.
Yet Bill’s woolly-headed gullibility in being lured into a strip joint appears to be merely one strand of a strong thread of amnesia running through the Labor leadership. Former PM Kevin Rudd had much the same experience in a New York strip club in 2003.
In truth, politicians unquestionably endure episodes of memory loss. A few weeks ago, Labor MP David Feeney forgot he owned a $2.31 million house.
In the US, Richard Nixon forgot details of the break-in at the Watergate Building and Bill Clinton smoked marijuana, but forgot to inhale.
