Boxer and former Bandido bikie Johnny “Two Guns” Walker is in hospital after suffering a major seizure.
Walker, who is training for a highly anticipated fight against a former Hells Angel, Daniel “Porky” Lovett on June 28, is understood to be in a coma but it is unclear what caused the seizure.
It is unclear if the medical episode has ended his boxing career.
In February, Walker stepped back into the ring in his first professional boxing bout since 2009 against Paul Houteas, winning on points against the Sydney fighter a decade younger than him.
It is understood Walker was told not to fight again after his 2009 bout.
Under trainers David Hegarty and former Hawthorn and Richmond AFL player Billy Nicholls, Walker shed 14kg for his return fight.
Walker’s return to the ring came after losing his job as a CFMEU delegate.
His partner, Jess, has posted that his family was with him in hospital on his 44th birthday today.
“I have no words at this moment of how quickly life changes,” she posted on social media.
“Not how we chose too (sic) spend your birthday, seems odd to say happy birthday given how we are spending it.
“Your strength and resilience is like no other.
“When given no choice but to return to your boxing career to support your family because the CFMEU stopped you working, social media flogs put you down, you did all you needed to give us a good life.
“Just know our boy will be back in no time with his family by his side.”
Walker’s former wife, Sarah Pratt, said she could not comment since she did not have contact with him and was unaware of the situation.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison following the death of a man whom he assaulted inside the Bandido’s clubhouse in Brunswick, Melbourne in 2014.
