Former celebrity chef Pete Evans’ new children’s cookbook will be published by an activist group headed up by Robert F Kennedy Jr.
RFK, who will be the health secretary for US President-elect Donald Trump, will publish the book titled Healthy Food for Healthy Kids via Children’s Health Defense – the activist group he chairs – on January 28.
The nephew of renowned American president John F Kennedy, RFK has been vocal about his opposition to processed foods.
During the American election campaign, Mr Trump promised to allow RFK to “go wild on health”.
Mr Evans, 51, made the book announcement on his Telegram messaging app on Tuesday.
“So please(d) and thankful that Robert Kennedy Jr set this up for me, with his Children’s Health Defense team. Stay tuned for more,” Mr Evans posted.
The former My Kitchen Rules chef was spotted in Sydney airport on Tuesday with pictures showing he is still sporting an interesting mohawk hairstyle.
The look is quite distinct from the clean cut visage he had on show while starring on the Channel 7 cooking show, the most recent season of which culminated this week.
Channel 7 cut ties with Mr Evans in 2020.
Mr Evans was kicked off Facebook in 2020 and Instagram in 2021 for spreading misinformation about Covid.
“We removed Pete Evans’ account for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines,” Meta said in a statement at the time.
“We don’t allow anyone to share misinformation about Covid-19 that could lead to imminent physical harm or about Covid-19 vaccines that have been debunked by public health experts.”
He was also fined $25,000 by the Therapeutic Goods Administration for trying to sell a device he claimed could cure Covid.
Mr Evans’ upcoming book will include 120 “paleo- and keto-friendly meals that your kid will love”.
This is not the first time Mr Evans has joined forces with divisive politicians.
During the pandemic he bonded with controversial Australian politician Craig Kelly.
Mr Evans publicly thanked Mr Kelly on a vodcast for airing his controversial theories on Covid and “fighting for us and presenting the evidence”.
