UPDATE: MORE than eight people have been taken to hospital after a spate of crashes on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to six incidents across the Coast on Saturday, causing lengthy delays on the M1 and several transports to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Roads in Varsity Lakes, Clear Island Waters, Helensvale and Southport are clear and as of 5PM AEST, and there are no delays on the M1 from Coolangatta to Logan.

EARLIER

1PM Emergency services were called after reports of a multi-vehicle crash southbound on the Pacific Highway near Exit 85, Varsity Lakes.

Paramedics treated seven people at the scene.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said two patients were taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.

She said another five people were assessed, however, they declined to be taken to hospital.

11.30AM Emergency services were called to the corner of Discovery Drive and Ridgevale Dive, Helensvale, after reports of a multi-vehicle crash around 11.25am.

A stable patient was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

9.40AM Traffic was at a standstill in Clear Island Waters after a single-motorcycle crash on Robina Parkway and Boowaggan Road around 9.41am.

Paramedics transported the cyclist to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

9.20AM Emergency services responded to a multi-vehicle crash located on Woomera Crescent in Southport. Three patients were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
