Emergency services attend Newtown crash

Emergency services were called to a crash in Newtown on Sunday afternoon, in which one man had to be taken to hospital.

A young man was taken to hospital after a crash in Newtown on Sunday afternoon.

It’s believed the driver suffered a medical episode and collided with a stationary vehicle, which struck another parked car.

Paramedics were called to the scene on George Street, near the corner of Aberdeen Street, about 1.20pm.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said a man in his late teens, who was believed to have suffered the medical episode, was taken to Geelong hospital.

He was in a stable condition with minor cuts and abrasions.

A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said he heard a bang and rushed outside.

Several neighbours ran out to the street after hearing the noise, he said.

The resident said three cars were towed from the scene.
