Early morning hot air balloon trip forced to make emergency landing in Gruyere

A woman is in hospital after a hot-air balloon went down in flames this morning, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing.

A hot-air balloon trip in the Yarra Ranges this morning has nearly ended in tragedy after the balloon caught fire, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing.

All 12 people who were on board are believed to be safe, with one 27-year-old female taken to hospital for observation.

A spokeswoman for Victoria Police confirmed the incident occurred about 6:15am today in Gruyere.
