ONE Darwin CBD bar is planning for a big dry season with hopes for rooftop refurbishments and converting a back car park into an event space on weekends

SMITH St Social is looking to amplify its patronage in 2021 through rooftop refurbishments and converting a back car park into an event space on weekends.

Venue manager Carly Balding said the area was begging to be used and enjoyed.

“Come dry season, we are looking to activate Smith St Social’s car park,” she said.

“We’re looking at putting on events whether it’s a band or a gin festival or a food truck festival.”

Ms Balding said the events would keep punters making their way to the venue for special occasions each weekend.

“Smith St Social is just that little bit off the Mitchell Street strip so it is a destination venue,” she said.

“We have to keep doing things to get people to come here, it’s not a place you just come past and come in.” by doing these things we’ll be able to bring Smith St social up to that Level.”
