Giant drink company Coca-Cola is bringing back its popular ‘Love Cans’ for Sydney WorldPride.
The design, which was first created in 2017 for the national debate on marriage equality, features the word ‘Love’ with a rainbow love heart worked into the cursive font in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.
This year, the limited edition Coca-Cola No Sugar Love Cans will be available at the opening and closing concerts and Pride villages for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Sydney WorldPride, which for the first time will be hosted in the Southern Hemisphere from February 17 to March 5.
Coca-Cola Australia marketing director Kate Miller said the Love Can design was about showcasing different expressions of love, be it “loving someone else or simply appreciating and loving yourself and who you are”.
“Coca-Cola has long believed in the power of bringing people together. No matter who you are or where you’re from, love is what connects us,” she said.
“We want everyone to show their love by accepting and supporting others.”
The company will also have a photo booth at the opening ceremony that has nine lenses to capture 3D stereoscopic images people can use on their social media.
“Our partnership with Sydney WorldPride is reflective of our commitment to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive company. We strive to do this my employing people who mirror the diversity of the communities in which we operate,” Mrs Miller said.
“We’re looking forward to celebrating this momentous event for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere.”
