Cleo Smith’s parents are set to earn millions from a record Australian television interview deal.

The parents of abducted four-year-old Cleo Smith have reportedly signed an interview deal with the Nine Network worth a staggering $2 million.

Cleo herself may feature in the interviews alongside her mother Ellie Smith and stepfather Jake Gliddon, reported The Australian.

The $2 million package is thought to be an Australian television record and would likely be spread across several Nine properties, including 60 Minutes and the company's newspapers.

Nine beat rival Channel 7 for the exclusive rights to the Cleo Smith story that made headlines around the world last year.

The deal was reportedly arranged by Sydney-based talent agent Max Markson.

News of the tell-all comes after reports Cleo’s parents were considering changing her name to stop unwanted attention.

Ms Smith and Mr Gliddon have been seeking advice from other parents whose children have become household names. A report suggested the couple were worried about how Cleo would cope with the attention.

The four-year-old was allegedly abducted from her family’s tent at a campsite near Carnavon, in Western Australia, on October 16 last year.

After a massive search, she was found three weeks later at a Carnavon house, near from where she vanished from, by police.

Terence Darrell Kelly, 36, was charged with offences including forcibly taking a child aged under 16, and will next appear in court on January 24.

Child psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Gregg told Sunrise after she was rescued Cleo would have to be closely watched for her reaction to the ordeal.

“The big concern that I have now is childhood PTSD, where you have constant, scary thoughts, nightmares, flashbacks, a marked change in mood and thinking and they will, of course, be on the lookout for that,” he said.

West Australian Premier Mark McGowan suggested a movie would one day be made about the ordeal after her dramatic rescue and return to her parents.
