Florence and The Machine singer Florence Welch was just glad she hadn’t broken her foot — again — when her Perth gig on Saturday night was struck mid-show by a technical delay.

The British singer mysteriously disappeared from stage only a few songs in at the RAC Arena leaving fans baffled as harp music filled in for her.

When the flame-haired performer finally returned she joked about her previous stage mishaps over the years — they include several broken feet caused by her leaping routines, perthnowreports.

“Don’t worry I didn’t break my foot again. The feet are fine!”, Welch said.

“That was a technical glitch, not to do with my toes.”

Welch resumed, blessing the Perth crowd with a cultish-like performance punching the air and prancing like a pagan.

More drama came when the Shake It Out singer scolded a drunk man at the front while performing — ironically — What Kind of Man.

“Are you behaving yourself sir?” Welch said.

“What kinda man?!” she said.

“What the f***! Please behave yourself … I mean not to that song … come on!” she fumed.

Welch, 36, went back at him later while discussing a drunk time in her own life that influenced her dark lyrics.

“When that guy sobers up tomorrow maybe he will write a song like that,” she said.

The Dog Days Are Over hit maker called on fans to politely ask others to put their phones away.

She then joked how they like to deal with the issue at gigs back in her home town of Camberwell, South London, “Put your f***ing phone away!”’she yelled in a cockney accent.

Further antics saw Welch dash deep into the back of the crowd sending bouncers scrambling.

She caressed tearful fans on the front row as well as greeting a baby in ear muffs.

The singer explained to new fans in her audience that her theatrics weren’t part of a cult.

“You are wondering what the f*** is this? Is it a cult? Am I safe?” she said.

“It’s so much better if you really give into it. I promise.

“You’ll have the best time if you do everything I say.”

She wept herself when she paid tribute to close friend, Pulp bassist Steve Mackay, who died this week at 56 after a secret health battle.

She played her hit Kiss With A Fist that Mackay produced.

Welch said: “He was such a kind and wonderful and talented man.”

The night also saw her thank fans for rescuing her from her own past struggles.

Lifting a self imposed live ban on her hit Never Let Me Go, she said, “Thank you for changing — and to be honest saving — my life.”
