CONTROVERSIAL reality TV star Suzi Taylor has been refused bail after allegedly bashing a younger man she met on a dating app because he refused to give her money.

The 49-year-old former The Block contestant, and her male co-accused, Ali Ebrahimi, are alleged to have attacked the 33-year-old at Taylor’s New Farm home on Wednesday, forcing him to make an online transaction before taking his bank card and withdrawing money.

Ebrahimi and Taylor, aka Suellen Jan Taylor, faced the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning on charges including deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and extortion.

The court heard police allege Ebrahimi began kicking and punching the man in the face before Taylor allegedly yelled: “Give me my money, give me my money”.

The pair allegedly also held the an against his will and forced him to transfer both to their accounts.

They are accused of then stealing the man’s bank card before withdrawing a sum of money, police say.

One neighbour said yesterday morning she heard loud screams while walking.

“Just before 6am, I heard this loud sort of scream,” she said.

“I didn’t know where it was coming from.”

Other neighbours reported as many as 12 police officers were at Taylor’s apartment yesterday.

The former Penthouse pet and mother of three was refused bail after the court heard she was already on bail for unrelated offences that occurred earlier this month.

The court found she was an unacceptable risk of reoffending.

The same New Farm property where the extortion allegedly occurred was raided by police on October 28 and Taylor was charged with several offences including burglary, receiving stolen property and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, the court was told.

Taylor was expected to appear for the first time in court on those charges next month before being arrested for the alleged dating-app extortion.

Ebrahimi did not apply for bail and was also remanded in custody.

Both defendants will appear in court again next month.

Taylor, a mother of three, appeared on the 2015 season of The Block, and won $349,000 with friend Yvonne Cosier.

Referred to as “the single mums”, the pair, who have since fallen out, renovated the third floor of the eight-level Hotel Saville in South Yarra.

In 2016 she claimed to have dated Richard Wilkins and said she would wait at his home for him in her underwear.

She said he abruptly ended their relationship over the phone after a few months.

She also claimed to have dated Michael Hutchence while his music was at the top of the charts.

“Dickie was nothing compared to Michael Hutchence,” she said. “Not in the same league.”
