Murder victim Ellie Price is being farewelled in a pink coffin by heartbroken family and friends, who’ve vowed for her memory to live on for her son.

The 26-year-old has been remembered as a “loving mother” and a “beautiful young woman who touched the hearts of all she met”.

Mourners were told that her young son, Mossy, would miss his “beautiful and special” mum, particular her hugs.

“Mossy will never forget his mum as she will live on his heart simply because of the love within the entire family,” the funeral heard.

Ms Price’s pink coffin has been covered in flowers, as coronavirus restrictions have forced loved ones to stream the service.

Family could be seen hugging and heard crying.

Mourners at the service and tuning in online were told that the chapel would have been overflowing had restrictions not been in place, and that they would “have to catch up over time”.

Ms Price was described as “a beautiful young woman who touched the hearts of all she met” and that her horror death was “the hardest to grieve” for her family.

Ms Price’s boyfriend Ricardo Barbaro has been charged with her murder.

In a statement read on her behalf, Ms Price’s mum Tracey Gangell described the heartbreak of her daughter’s death.

“She was taken away from us much too early but the memory of Ellie will live on in us forever,” Ms Gangell said.

“I will love you forever, mum.”

Ms Gangell said since Ellie’s death not a single minute had passed that she hadn’t thought of her baby girl.

She said she missed everything about her, even the “little fights” they would have.

“I kissed her for the last time at the viewing. I wish I could again feel her cheeks on mine and arms wrapped around hugging me and saying ‘Mum, I love you and am so glad you are my mum’.”

Ms Gangell said Ellie was bursting with life and youthfulness and that her family will never recover from her murder.

“I’ve lost my baby girl and all my hopes and dreams. My family and I will never get over this,” she said.

Ms Price’s sister and best friend Danielle said in a statement that the birth of Mossy was the most special thing she had ever witnessed.

Danielle said her sister did not care what anyone thought of her and that was what people loved.

“You had the biggest heart of gold. You are now my beautiful angel. You were too beautiful for this world. Shine bright, like a diamond,” Danielle said.

Her brother Dylan said he would miss their arguments and how the next time they caught up it was as though nothing had happened.

Ellie, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten,” Mr Price said.

Close friend Kate said Ms Price was a kind-hearted and loving woman.

“I loved her endlessly and my life isn’t complete without her,” Kate said.

A statement was read from another friend, Mark, who could not attend because he is in Melbourne and was unable to travel to Tasmania because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Mark said he vividly recalled the first day they met.

“She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She was simply stunning,” he said.

“We had a relationship like no other and it would stand the test of time.”

After the ceremony, heartbroken friends gathered outside where they exchanged embraces and shed tears.
