Man charged after alleged hit-and-run that killed 23-year-old man in northwest NSW
A man accused of killing a 23-year-old in an alleged hit-and-run in northwest Sydney has been hit with a string of charges after he was allegedly found following a second crash.
A man accused of a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a young man allegedly crashed into bushland shortly after the fatal collision in northwest NSW.
A 23-year-old man was found lying about 3m from the roadway by a passing motorist at Old Kurrajong Rd in Richmond on the evening of November 16.
The motorist helped the young man until paramedics arrived, however the man died at the scene.
Police allege he was struck by an unknown car that allegedly failed to stop following the crash.
A Nissan Navara was found crashed into bushland at a paddock off Kurmond Rd, North Richmond, about an hour later.
A 41-year-old man was treated for minor injuries by paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Hospital.
The 41-year-old man has since been hit with a string of charges including dangerous driving and negligent driving occasioning death as well as dangerous driving occasioning death – drive under the influence and fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death.
He was refused bail on Friday and is expected to front a court on Saturday.
