A man is in hospital with serious facial injuries after being set upon by a group in the wake of a drunken car crash at Dundee Beach, it is alleged.

A man is in hospital with serious facial injuries after being set upon by a group in the wake of a drunken car crash, it is alleged.
The 55-year-old was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment after the alleged assault at Dundee Beach late on Friday night.
Shortly after 11pm emergency services received a report of a group of people allegedly assaulting the man after a minor vehicle crash.
Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the bingle.
The victim suffered serious injuries to his face in the alleged assault.
Northern Territory Police, St John Ambulance and a CareFlight helicopter attended the scene before the man was flown to RDH, where he underwent surgery.
A crime scene was declared, and investigations are ongoing as police work to find the alleged offenders.
