Logan River fisherman spots mysterious 'crocodile' on sonar

A Qld fisherman has shared a sonar image of what some say appears to be a crocodile spotted in a river near Brisbane, sparking fierce debate. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Eyebrows were raised after a Brisbane fisherman spotted a crocodile-shaped print on his live sonar device while fishing in a Queensland river.

Fisherman Steve Morgan took to Facebook to post a reading of his live sonar unit, revealing what looked like a crocodile.

“I was 50/50 when I first looked at my picture,” Mr Morgan said.

“But now that I watch the video again, its tail straightens on it.

“So if I was to bet money, I’d bet that it was a croc.”

Mr Morgan said crocodiles weren’t uncommon at the Logan River more than 100 years ago, with many old newspaper articles of notable catches in the area.

People dived into the post’s comment section to give their thoughts on the bizarre and baffling sighting.

“Well it ain’t a platypus” Peter James wrote.

“It’s a gecko hanging onto your transducer,” Brian Freier said.

“If it’s not a croc Stephen, I reckon you found Nessie’s little brother,” Mark Wilson said.

“Looks too small and they tuck their legs in when they swim,” Shayne Godden said.

This sighting followed the incident of several people taking to social media on July 20, claiming they saw a crocodile at the Sunshine Coast’s Noosa Spit.

Authorities scoured waters for days and did not find any evidence.
