A SCORNED woman accused of mowing down her boyfriend’s new lover was not to blame, the man at the centre of the love triangle has said.
The woman, 40, was tonight charged with offences including conduct endangering life after a hit-run in Clarinda about 8.20pm on Tuesday which left the other woman, 34, with serious leg injuries.
The Herald Sun understands that the trio were involved in an argument at the man’s Clarinda home shortly before the incident after the woman, who had been with the man for more than a year, spotted him with his mistress.

“When she spotted me and her together she just snapped,” the man, 54, said on Wednesday.
“It hasn’t been fair on either of them, because I’m the one that’s been playing.”
It is believed the woman then followed the man and his mistress after they left the home, before ramming her own car into the rear of their vehicle in Bourke Rd.
After the female passenger alighted and walked onto the footpath she was struck by the other woman’s car, which had mounted the kerb. The man was unhurt.
Neighbours rushed out on hearing the woman’s screams.
Ash, who did not wish to provide his surname, said that he had found the woman screaming in pain.
“Her boyfriend was consoling her. He was yelling and saying he was going to look after her and calling friends to help,” Ash said.
Tahlia Moussa, 20, held the woman’s hand as she screamed in pain. “I was telling her to focus on me and not the pain. Her screams were terrifying.”
Ms Moussa said the man had been “fuming”. “He kept saying his ex was a b---h,” she said.
But the man said on Wednesday: “It wasn’t her fault, it was all my fault. She doesn’t deserve to cop what’s she going to cop.”
The injured woman was taken to The Alfred hospital, where her condition was stable on Wednesday night.
A Doncaster woman, 40, was on Wednesday night charged with intentionally causing serious injury, stalking and other assault-related offences.
She was expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
