Several residents told the Herald Sun of their shock at learning a woman had died.

They man when he saw the police arrive he assumed it was to investigate a drug deal, which was not uncommon in adjacent buildings.

A man who has lived in The Boyd “since the beginning”, 12 or 13 years ago, said it had become a popular place for weekend and holiday accommodation.

Forensic investigators were still at the scene last night.

Entry to the complex, which boasts a pool and large shared courtyard, is via a swipe card security system.
