A WOMAN has been assaulted outside the controversial safe injecting room in North Richmond a week after it opened.
Investigators were called to Lennox St just before 10.30am following reports a woman had been assaulted.
Police have been told the woman was taking photographs in the area when she was approached and assaulted by two unknown men.

The men fled the scene prior to police arriving. The victim was uninjured.
AVictoria Police spokesman, in a statement released to the Herald Sun, said Richmond police would continue to perform their duties to ensure a “safe and orderly environment for all community members in North Richmond”.
“Victoria Police respects the intent of the new facility to reduce the harm caused by drug use and addiction and will work closely with the centre to ensure that community safety is not compromised.”
