Here’s what we know so far.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR
• Aiia Maasarwe attended a comedy show at The Comic’s Lounge in North Melbourne.
• CCTV footage released by the police shows her leaving the venue.
• Police believe she boarded the route 86 tram towards Bundoora at 10.50pm from Bourke St.
• Aiia got off the tram at the corner of Plenty and Main roads at 12.10am. As she walked to her home a phone call with her sister ended abruptly. Her sister says she heard different voices before the line went dead.
• Police are working around the theory she was attacked about 50m from the tram stop.
• Police are unsure if the killer stalked her from the city or pounced on her as she left the tram.
• Aiia’s body was found in shrubbery outside the Bundoora Polaris shopping centre on Wednesday morning.
• A black “1986” cap and a grey and black Cotton On T-shirt were found within 100m of where the body of Aiia Maasarwe was discovered early Wednesday morning. Police are testing the clothing for DNA.
• Items belonging to Aiia were found in a dog park near the shopping centre.
• Aiia’s father is in Melbourne to formally identify the body.
• Police are refusing to go into specific details about how she died, but believe she may have been sexually assaulted.
• A vigil at Parliament House on Spring St is planned for Friday night at 6pm. After the vigil, mourners are encouraged to bring their flowers with them on the 8.01pm tram from parliament to Bundoora Park.
• A stronger PSO presence will be expected along Melbourne’s tram network in the next few months, according to PTV CEO Jeroen Weimar.
• La Trobe University, where Aiia attended, released a statement sending its condolences to Ms Maasarwe’s friends and family.
• La Trobe University says it has been working to boost security on campus. The University has also contacted students and staff today to offer security escorts for anyone concerned about their safety at the Bundoora campus.
• A man was arrested in Greensborough on Friday morning over the murder of Ms Maasarwe.
