Two-time shooting victim Nabil Maghnie is behind bars after a high-speed road smash in Melbourne’s northeast.
Maghnie was arrested on Tuesday morning after an investigation into a May collision in which he allegedly lost control of a luxury Range Rover Sport at a roundabout at Woodstock.
Police will allege Maghnie’s vehicle then hit a utility and that he had been travelling at over 200km/h at the time.
The accident happened at the intersection of Donnybrook and Epping roads at 12.40am on May 25.
Maghnie, who is suspected of having links to the Comanchero motorcycle gang, was arrested on Wednesday on Plenty Rd, Bundoora.
He later faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court charged with conduct endangering life, driving while disqualified and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
The 43-year-old from Bundoora was remanded in custody.
His next scheduled appearance is on September 17.
Maghnie has in the past been described as a rival of former Bandidos bikie strongman Toby Mitchell.
He has survived two shootings in recent years.
He was spoken to by police when Mitchell was shot in an attempted hit at Brunswick in 2011.
Maghnie is also reportedly at odds with a Middle-Eastern family from the northern suburbs.
