A MAN and woman with ties to the Comanchero bikie gang have been arrested as a joint Victoria Police and Australian Federal Police probe into the crime group continues.
Cocaine, ammunition and vehicles were also seized early this morning in Melbourne’s southeast and northwest.
Victoria Police’s Task Force Echo and the AFP’s National Anti-Gangs Squad detectives executed warrants about 5.30am at Robin Drive in Carrum Downs, Wests Rd in Maribyrnong and Cardinal Rd in Glenroy.
A 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested during the raids.
The Maribyrnong woman has been charged with possession of drugs and ammunition and the Carrum Downs man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
The latest arrests came after five people with links to the Comancheros were taken in for questioning on Thursday.
Police executed warrants about 5.30am at Everitt St Dandenong, Power Rd in Doveton, Lighthorse Crescent in Narre Warren South, Vivien St Dandenong and Princes Way in Longwarry.
Six firearms, cash and drugs believed to be cocaine and steroids were seized.
Two men, aged 25 and 30, and a 21-year-old woman all from Dandenong, a 32-year-old Doveton man and a 32-year-old Narre Warren South man were all arrested at the scene.
“The community can be assured and confident that Victoria Police will continue its strong focus on any criminal activities associated with rival Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs and any other groups,” Leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said.
