Suspended Victoria Police commander Stuart Bateson, who was charged by the anti-corruption watchdog with leaking information, has been listed to front royal commission hearings in Melbourne next week.

Suspended top cop Stuart Bateson has been listed to front royal commission hearings in Melbourne next week.
Mr Bateson, a Victoria Police commander, was charged last week with three counts of disclosing a restricted matter.
The charges, which have sent shockwaves through the force, were laid last week by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission.
Mr Bateson — who intends to fight the charges — is off work and due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on July 4.
A list of potential witnesses for the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants hearings resuming next Monday includes his name.
It will examine lawyer-turned-informer Nicola Gobbo’s dealings with the Purana taskforce in 2004 and 2005.
Mr Bateson was a key member of the taskforce. It has been reported Ms Gobbo gave him thousands of pieces of information.
Other senior gangland investigators are also listed.
