Police want to slap GWS star Toby Greene’s father with an alcohol exclusion order which could see him banned from entering licensed venues when he is released from custody.
The application was flagged this morning at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court where Michael Greene, 60, appeared on a string of charges including headbutting a police officer.
If granted, it would prohibit him from entering or remaining in a licensed premise that is a nightclub, bar, restaurant, cafe, reception, function centre, or a location of a major event, and for two years.
It could see Mr Greene banned from watching his son play football.
A decision on the alcohol exclusion order will be made once all current charges being faced by Mr Greene are resolved.
Mr Greene was arrested and remanded in custody on Saturday charged with headbutting a female police officer escorting him from the MCG during the AFL Grand Final.
He was facing outstanding charges at the time.
His lawyer told the court Mr Greene would be pleading guilty to all charges prior to the alleged headbutting incident.
But he said police were still speaking to witnesses and preparing a brief of evidence over Saturday’s incident.
Mr Greene smiled broadly through this morning’s brief hearing and waved at people in court.
His matters were adjourned until October 17.
Police flagged applying for an alcohol exclusion order against Mr Greene.
Mr Greene is believed to have been asleep in a toilet at the ground during the Richmond-GWS clash when police were called to reports of an “alcohol-affected” man about 5pm.

Witness Annie saw Michael Greene’s arrest unfold outside the MCG after the game.
“I noticed all of these police there,” Annie told the Herald Sun. “He had a backpack which the police were going through.
“Then the AFL security staff were called in to create another barricade.
“It was so bizarre to see so many cops. Police did a great job containing the situation.
“It could have escalated. You just don’t know these days.”
Annie said she saw police put Mr Greene in the back of a divvy van which then left the ground.
Mr Greene, from Ferntree Gully, was also charged with intentionally causing injury, resisting police and assaulting police.
