Three people in a Boronia property were home as shots were fired

The victim of a shooting in Melbourne’s east has lashed out after her property was peppered with bullets overnight, saying her two teenage sons were nearly hit by gunfire. It comes as a neighbour said there was a fight over money at the house last night.

Shots have been fired at a Boronia home and cars outside the property, with neighbours saying they heard “four or five continuous shots” last night.

Investigators have been told a number of rounds were fired at the Torresdale Drive residence about 10.30pm.

Three people, a 49-year-old woman and two teenage boys, were home at the time but were unharmed.

The woman at home of the shooting, known as Sandra, said she had “a lot to say” before asking reporters for $1000 cash for each question.

“I’m fighting for our lives,” Sandra said. “I am a victim here. My kids were nearly f---ing shot at.

“The public can get f---ed, we don’t do drugs, we don’t do any s--- to deserve this.

“This ain’t Housos. Until I’ve got a safe place to go, no one gets s---.

“I’ve got stuff that will blow everyone away but I can’t until my family is safe.”

Sandra refused to answer questions about why she think her house was shot at and who she suspected was behind the shooting.

Neighbour David Arms said the shooting was “rather strange”.

“We heard four or five continual shots,” Mr Arms said. “It is a bit disconcerting.

“I couldn’t see anything (after the shooting) which was odd. It was very quiet afterward.”

He said the police came within 15 minutes of the shooting.

Shane Lemphers, who lives next door, said he heard a verbal argument at the house yesterday afternoon about 3pm.

“I heard a few arguments, there was a bit of a dispute (over) money and personal belongings,” he said.

Mr Lemphers said there were regular disturbances at the home.

“It is probably not the first time this has happened,” he said. “From what I know it is a housing commission house.

“This is not the first time there has been gunfire in the house, about two years ago there was another incident.

“As you can see, there are a lot of cars without number plates in that house.”

Mr Lemphers said he was sleeping but heard “four gunshots” that woke him up.

There are four cars on the property, two without number plates.

A white Mitsubishi Magna in the driveway was also shot at.
