POLICE have arrested three Apex gang members and a fourth associate over a terrifying series of assaults and robberies during a two-hour inner-city rampage.
Kual Ashweel, 18, was today refused bail after being arrest on April 21 and charged with 63 offences including assaults, robberies, affray, false imprisonments and deceptions during the alleged April 10 rampage through Richmond, Southbank and Hawthorn.
Apex members Mursal Biel, 18, and two underage teens were also arrested.
The group approached victims in a stolen car to harass and rob strangers in at least seven incidents.
Some victims were beaten with a telescopic baton, and at least one threatened with death.
Ashweel will reappear in July.
Meanwhile, police have warned Melburnians to be more security conscious as the Apex gang of violent teenagers continues to terrorise the city by stealing cars and invading homes.
But members of the public shouldn’t arm themselves with capsicum spray.
The Apex gang is being blamed for a spate of aggravated thefts and burglaries in recent months, including the vicious assault of a Mercedes driver yesterday and a subsequent home invasion in which the luxury car was used.
